"Socks + Sandals", has been gradually becoming a chief role on T-stage. These years, more and more designers like to attempt this in-fashion style, from flatted sandals, to wedged or high-heeled sandals, to even clip-toe shoes or socks like flip-flops or Japanese Tabi. Well, when it comes to Japanese, I should say Japanese designers and models love to be in "Kawai" frilly white ankle socks with sandals more than any other nation, because white ankle socks (Tabi) with wooden flip-flops (Geta) make up their tradition which has been kept till today.
Via Tokyo Girls Collection 2011, we can read so much about that. Let's watch two videos about ef-dé and Apuweiser-Riche:
These styles can be often seen in Tokyo's street: http://www.style-arena.jp/en/tokyo-streetstyle/shibuya/2013/4/4/7074
Yoana Baraschi followed these Japanese styles in the same year, 2011. The video and photos below show her work at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2011:
Soon after, in 2012, a more famous brand - Louise Gray successfully continued the fashion of Japanese-style frilly white ankle socks with wedged sandals, at London Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2012:
Some new designers came out in the next year, 2013, among which there were Celeste & Pavli Style. They have not been famous till today, but at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Malta, they did impress audience:
The animated photo above looks so amazing! It is the most amazing GIF I have ever seen.
Something interesting happened. Marc by Marc Jacobs showed two models in ankle socks with CLIP-TOE WEDGES like Japanese Geta, at his Spring-Summer 2013:

However, this is not the most amazing yet. When it came to this year, 2014, Ukrainian designer Tatyana Parfionova did a braver attempt: getting v-toe flip-flop socks and regular high-heeled sandals combined together!
You may have seen the shoes at Prada Spring-Summer 2013 which combine v-toe socks and high-heeled clip-toe sandals together, but these "socks" cannot be called socks because they are a part of the shoes, so they do not look really sexy, though Prada tried to make people think about Japanese culture:
Someone pursued wild art, while someone else pursued elegance, such as Bora Aksu Spring-Summer 2014 at London Fashion Week:
All of these models were in white ankle socks and gray wedged sandals! No exception!
At the same time, Korean designer Eudon Choi tried to compete against others, with shorter white ankle socks, at London Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2014. When the article is about to end, do not ignore that Korean also love sock-sandal fashion who are never fell behind Japanese! Did you still remember the previous article talking about Korean female star Kim Hyuna, and the first article of this blog talking about Lee Hyori? Yes, Korean do like it! Actually most of Asian (Japanese, Korean, Northern Chinese, Filipino, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Indian) like it! Although the fashion shows I have posted today basically come from Europe, Asian are the actual driving power of this fashion instead!
